Hello! My name is Peter Son, and I recently graduated from UC Irvine with a B.S. in Computer Science. Throughout my academic journey, I gained hands-on experience in software development and have developed specialties in quickly acquiring new skills and programming languages, problem-solving, test-driven development, and agile development. Currently, I have expertise in C++, MySQL, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, Angular, Python, Git/GitHub, Node.js, React, and Ionic. I am also in the process of learning Next.js, MongoDB, and Express.js as I transition into the world of web development.I am passionate about applying my skills directly to create meaningful solutions. One of my proudest accomplishments was leading a team of 5 developers in deploying the first iteration of OOTify, a mobile web application that serves as a mental health resource hub. By leveraging clinical data and user preferences, I developed a personalized recommendation engine that connects users with relevant resources based on their mental health status and needs. As I continue to be involved with OOTify, I find great joy in witnessing the positive impact we are making in the college mental health industry.As I progress in my career as a software engineer, I am excited and open to embracing new challenges and contributing to innovative projects that have a profound impact.
