I am also a CQC Registered Service Manager for adult and young people drug and alcohol services and service manager for a smoking cessation service.I have worked in a wide range of private, public and voluntary/charitable settings, and my experience mostly encompasses interventions for health and lifestyle issues including alcohol dependence and hazardous drinking, other substance use, body image and image/appearance enhancing substances, exercise and physical activity, and smoking cessation. I am particularly interested in the prevention, treatment, and management of alcohol related brain damage. My current work as a psychologist follows ten years working in corporate settings: I bring transferable skills into any new role from my previous work in project management, organisational change and HR management

CDARS (as 'Engage Merton') worked in partnership with South West London and St George's Mental Health to provide medical and psychosocial addiction and substance use support, in the London Borough of Merton. - Co-facilitator of men's and women's 'Preparation for Change' groups (for those preparing for inpatient or community alcohol detox). - Developed and facilitated an Alcohol Reduction Group - a psycho-educational group for drinkers who are not physically dependent on alcohol but who want to reduce their alcohol intake to safer levels. The group draws upon a relapse-prevention model of behavioural maintenance and follows NICE guidelines for behaviour change interventions. - Launched and co-facilitated a SMART Recovery group, utilising MET and REBT principles- Established a Big Lottery Funded service to provide individual, tailored smoking-cessation advice and support, based on best-practice guidelines from the Turning Point/SLAM smoking cessation pilot.- Working with clients on an individual basis, including those with complex mental health needs.- Developing Tamil language literature and resources to help those in the Tamil community in the borough who have alcohol problems. - Data management of the alcohol team data.
