Prior to September 2019, I had no idea what Salesforce was. When I was asked if I wanted to learn about it, I thought I was going to be a salesperson like Jim Halpert on The Office. Desperate for work, I said "sure" and began my journey on Trailhead.By December, I was ready to take my Developer Certification exam. At the very least, this should give me a leg up over the other developers fresh out of college, right? When I landed an interview with BBVA, I was shaking with anticipation. They took the chance on me.Early mornings, late evenings. Whatever it took to make sure I delivered my assignments on time. The project I was tasked with had had all previous developers move on to other companies. I had to learn all of the connecting Apex, Process Builders, and custom metadata in order to update it in ways I wasn't sure was possible. No matter the challenge, I found a way to make it happen. That success wasn't all my own. Far from it. I was lucky enough to have been placed under two very outgoing mentors. From day one, they told me I could ask them questions about ANYTHING work related and that it would have no impact on my employment status. This helped me find my footing and even budget time in to continue pursuing other Salesforce certifications.In one year, my skill set has evolved to include:-Apex Coding, Testing, and Debugging-Simple LWC coding using templates from Salesforce-Visualforce debugging/updates-Process Builder updates-Flow creation, including Before-Save flows in place of before triggers-Sharing and Visibility settings via Field-Level security, permission sets, and Organization Wide Defaults-Einstein Component creation and security predicates-Restricting data access on components via Lightning Page Builder- and many more...If you want to keep up with my progress on Trailhead, my link is below!Profile: https://trailblazer.me/id/psyduckslap
