CurrentWe would like to introduce our company SWAPRO AGRITECH LLP- a seaweed based agritech startup.We are a sister concern of ‘Das & Kumars’, one of the most reputed names in Indian Aquaculture space boasting over 30 years of experience in implementing projects on Cages, Feedmill, RAS etc., with central government, state governments and ICAR institutes.Swapro has been incorporated with a mission to promote the benefits of seaweed within our country. We are committed towards increasing the cultivation of Seaweed in India to meet the ambitious target of 11.2 lakh tonne by FY 2024-25 as laid out in PM Matsya Sampada Yojna (PMMSY). The same mission was reiterated by honourable secretary sir in the recent review meeting held on 20th December 2023.At Swapro, we aim to address this issue with our revolutionary HDPE based Raft named as “S-RAF” (Demonstrated at the Global fisheries conference on 21St November 2023.). The same has been successfully tested by CSMCRI institute in Mandappam. “S-RAF” has the potential to quickly augment cultivation across states compared to other existing methods. This raft offers several advantages over the existing bamboo raft technique (refer Annexure I):• Cycle time reduced by half from 50 to 25 days• 4-5 times the yield per cycle• 5 times the effective life of around 10 years with almost zero maintenance• Sturdy & durable structure suitable for different sea and weather conditions• Almost zero fish grazing• No major barnacles attachedOther benefits of “S-RAF”:• Cultivation throughout the year.• Can be used for multi variety of Seaweed species• Implementable across the states We are already supplying this raft to one of the largest seaweed private companies in India, selected after evaluating various other cultivation techniques from around the world. They are further testing this structure at various locations and for offshore cultivations as well.
