I lead the Food System Team at Birmingham City Council where I have been on a mission to unite the inspiring people behind the city’s many diverse food system projects under the Birmingham Food Revolution movement. Development Executive And Area Account ManagerFood Dudes Healthy Eating Programme Sep 2011 - Sep 2015National (Based In West Midlands)Food Dudes is an award winning social enterprise that applies the science of behaviour change to improve children’s health and wellbeing with a focus on increasing fruit and vegetable consumption. The Food Dudes team includes some of the world’s leading behavioural scientists and is based on over 20 years of research at Bangor University. To date, Food Dudes has been implemented in over 3,500 primary schools, nurseries and special schools and the programmes have positively impacted more than 700,000 children globally.During my time at Food Dudes I was part of a team of like minded, driven and enthusiastic people who were passionate about changing children's lives via a high quality evidence based programme that truly makes a difference. I was a driving force behind taking Food Dudes from a research project based at Bangor University to being rolled out on a large scale and being widely recognised as an exceptional programme. My role was engaging and varied and included the following:- Identified and personally secured over £2 million of funding- Built relationships and reputation for Food Dudes with partners, industry bodies, schools and commissioners in the NHS and Local Authorities- Networked and developed partnerships across sectors- Developed promotional materials and multimedia including facilitating capturing our award winning work with ITV and the BBC- Project managed the flagship accounts including costing, proposals, tender applications, planning, overseeing delivery and finances, reporting and account renewals- Managed programme delivery with a team of 9 staff- Represented Food Dudes at steering groups, committees, networks and advisory groups- Identified opportunities, developed and delivered presentations and training at conferences, seminars and workshops- Developed and evaluated new evidence based behaviour change programmes- Applied for, and won, three awards recognising the achievements of the team and the impact of the programme
