Part of Database Cloud Development Team. Working on design and development of backend framework for the large scale distributed Database-as-a-Service(DBaaS) platform that drives Oracle's Database on Oracle Public Cloud (Autonomous Database(ATP), Exadata Cloud Service), Private Cloud (Cloud@Customer) and Hybrid Cloud.Some of the cool features that I developed:Pluggable Database(PDB) APIs for Autonomous Database and Exadata Cloud Service• The project was to provide a set of APIs to provision, scale on demand(with automatic resource management), clone(full hot remote cloning), relocate, secure and delete pluggable database/s .Isolated Wallets for Pluggable Databases in Cloud• Provided each PDB with its own keystore, so that each tenant can manage its encryption keys independently with different keystore password.Key Management Service(KMS) for databases in Cloud• A highly available and durable solution that gave customers control over and visibility into the keys used to protect their data using a Hardware Security Module(HSM). Exadata Cloud Service Shared Oracle Homes• The project provides user with the option to use shared binaries for provisioning of Database.• This had a customer impact optimizing the compute space storage which in-turn allows users to make maximum possible use of the existing system resources.DBaaS CLI• A scalable and flexible command line interface with features like autocomplete and autohelp, which can perform all activities related to Database in a user-friendly environment.• The code uses a Trie based architecture, which allows addition of new features to the existing code as independent modules. This isolation makes development of new features very easy with ~zero regression.DBaaS API• A command-line utility that operates like a REST API endpoint, accepting a json "request body" and producing a json "response body". • The utility runs the operation asynchronously with the status of the operation being query-able.

Part of Oracle Database Server Technologies Group, working primarily on Oracle Data Pump feature. Data Pump is a technology which enables very high speed parallel movement of data and metadata across databases. Using Data Pump, it is possible to move some part or the complete database. • Worked on parallel export and import of metadata. This feature considerably increased the performance of Data Pump at almost no additional cost.• Integration of Data Pump into Consolidated Databases (CDB introduced in Oracle 12c).• Enhancement of Consolidated Databases to provide a template like interface across multiple pluggable databases.• Developed multiple stress workloads which identified several issues in the performance of the existing code.• Worked on many database features like Flashback, Database Upgrade and Downgrade, Partitions, Materialized Views etc.
