I was responsible for state-wide media relations and issues management for the NSW branch. Much of the publicity was achieved with zero-budget. I helped achieve close to $100,000 in publicity value by free placement of ‘Red Cross Calling’ and ‘Thank-you’ advertisements across radio and television in NSW for the Bali bombing fundraising efforts. I was part of the three-member team responsible for effective stakeholder communication with the NSW Government, Salvation Army and St Vincent de Paul involved during the long-term NSW Drought Relief appeal.I also contributed to productive partnerships with sponsors through targeted public relations activities. Corporate partners include Network Ten, Cumberland Newspaper Group, Energy Australia, Sanitarium, Woolworths, Wyeth Australia, Mallesons Stephen Jaques, Goodman Fielder and Roses Only.

I was responsible for writing and editing interviews and reviews for the Features Section of the New Indian Express. In the course of this work, I interviewed several award-winning international and Indian artists, musicians, writers and film-makers, and frequently reviewed films and art exhibitions. Later, I also took on the Editor role for their youth supplement, Youth Express, and which was distributed in four Southern Indian states and helped develop a new look and feel.
