At present, I am motivated with my role as a communication specialist at a premier fortune 500 company. This role demands, implementation of communication practices and gatekeeping brand objectives of the organisation in internal communication practices.Prior to this role I:Had a wonderful exposure of academic environment as an 'Academic associate' at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad following my stint at SPJIMR, Mumbai as a 'Programme associate' in the Development of Corporate Citizenship (DOCC). The role involved participation in academic operations for the communication area at IIMA. Simultaneously participating in discourses in the communication area focusing on different sectors of communication academics viz. Intercultural communication, Managerial communication, Crisis communication and so on. Whereas in SPJIMR my role was defined as using communication tools for the dissemination of information and relationship building on behalf of the Department at SPJIMR focusing primarily on the multiplication of sensitive behaviour among MBA participants. I comply with my thought that "there is no sole source of inspiration or motivation". This approach has led me over the years while pursuing my education. While I was pursuing under graduation (B.A. English Honours), studying literature added to my perspective of viewing things while practically I thought to acquire some professional skills after my graduation. Thus, continued to pursue Post-graduation in Mass Communication and Journalism.My insight into the professional arena of journalism/Mass communication was felicitated by the Times of India, Patna (TOI) English daily published in the capital city of Bihar. My responsibility as an intern was to report news and attend events. An event on 'child labour' conducted by UNICEF and the State government of Bihar motivated me for my engagements at the organisation. The diverse nature of my responsibility at TOI provided me with the challenge to co-operate with 'n' no. of organisations ranging from individuals to police, state, and central administrations along with self-help groups and NGOs.Comprehensively, both of these disciplines added to my experience where one showed me an Ideal way to see things and the other taught me a practical way to do things.Thank you for reading about my experiences.
