Research and Documentation• Lead the survey execution: large Scale Skill Development Student Survey in collaboration with University of Pennsylvania. This project comprises various work of survey execution including training of surveyors, ensuring quality of data etc.• Baseline Survey designing: Development of baseline survey tools for conducting survey in four villages and execution. • Secondary data analysis of DISE data for last 10 years of Chhattisgarh • Process documentations of major engagements of organizations. Direct Engagement with Field• Organizing Cluster level meeting with teachers, academic support in selected schools, conducting monthly meeting with CRCs at blocks.• Periodically organizing film shows, ‘Bal Melaa’ in selected government schools, strengthening four SMCs.

• Regular analysis of student’s personal accounts, annual reports and case studies in order to prepare continuous progress assessment reports of students. • Conducted training workshop for field team on action research and reflective practice.• Review of developed language approach paper and study materials in socio- cultural context of Saharia community.• Conduct training workshops with government teachers of project catchment area periodically. • Systematic observation analysis of classroom interaction pattern between Saharia and non Saharia students in primary classes Sandarbha Shala Project: The project was based on an assumption that “existing schools system is not able to respond the educational needs of tribal communities which further lead overall educational deprivation. Applying methods of action research, the project was designed to understand issues related with elementary education of Sahariya tribe in Baran district of Rajasthan in five areas- language pedagogy, Teacher’s attitude, School organization, Contextualization of curriculum and appropriate pedagogical practices.

Saharsa Area In Bihar, India

Education initiative • Program designing for dropout students of “Mushahar community” to bring them in formal school system: informal group formation, establishment of activity cum library centers etc.• Worked as a facilitator with students in night schools for the subjects of Social Sciences and mathematics. • Contextualization of secondary classes books in community specific socio- cultural frame and limited pedagogical innovations. Community mobilization • Building community accountability through mobilization of landless laborers for conducting Gram Sabha meetings for NREGA. • Formation of SHGs and involving them in livelihood generation programs • Awareness campaign of government programs with ensuring community participation in all these efforts. • Promotion of energy efficient chulhas and biomass fuel in the households to reduce the burden of women folk and household expenditure. Documentation and Research • Participated in designing and organizing base line survey in three Mushahar tola of project catchment area. • Data analysis and report writing, secondary research for all above mentioned works.
