I enjoy working in Life Sciences. With an MSc in Life Sciences & Technology from Leiden University and Delft University of Technology I continued in academia as a scientist in skin cancer research, for which I obtained a PhD degree at Leiden University Medical Center. Following my interest extending beyond science I have taken on a diverse range of responsibilities. Leading a web-based travel company gave me a deeper understanding on the dynamics of IT, online marketing, partnerships and leading a team. As grant consultant I advised pharmaceutical and biotech companies and institutes on their public funding strategy and helped them in securing funding. This gave me a thorough understanding of grants but also insight in top-down reasoning from the bigger picture to concrete actions. As project manager R&D at a start-up biotech company it was great to contribute to the scientist team working effectively and goal oriented in the R&D program. Later as director of project management office (PMO) I was responsible for the project management organization of a growing life science service organization, which started basic project management but that is continually being expanded and professionalized, paying attention to keep it lean and fitting the organization. Working closely with senior management. I have led the selection and implementation of an ERP system (Odoo), which included working closely with all the company teams on defining and improving our business processes. In my current role at Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) I have the opportunity to contribute to the "Nationaal Groeifonds" (Dutch Growth Fund) which has a budget of 20 billion euros to spend over 5 years with the aim to structurally stimulate the Dutch economy.To summarize, my basis is the life sciences and I enjoy taking on challenges involving other fields like project management, finance or IT.
