I am a second-year grad student at University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and study in quantitative finance & risk management program. Before this, I got Applied Mathematics bachelor’s degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison with Computer Science certification. As an upcoming fresh graduate, I am eager to bring my knowledge and commitment to excellence to quantitative and analysis fields.Data analysis is an area that makes digital world more readable for the publics and has requirements for insiders to keep learning every day, and as a live learner, that is exactly what I am looking for in my whole career. In many course projects, I developed research skill and capacity of collecting and normalizing large database. I found that I am keen to construct machine learning models to implement prediction and analysis. More importantly, I enjoyed the process that translate professional data into easy-understanding reports. The deep understanding there inspired me to seek for opportunities in data science industry.Moreover, I believe I have capability to deliver stacks of work in high standard that employees will ask for because of not only the multitasking ability that developed from cross-boundaries courses I took in college but also the memorable experience I gained in internships. As a former credit risk intern at China Construction Bank, I trained to interpret customers data into risk credits by scorecard model and present my observation of market sales to lay audiences in an understandable manner. The experience in Morgan Stanley also benefited my ability to shape clear slides that can make the information delivery more efficiently. Furthermore, I have learned how to explain risk-related model structure and the rationale from a financial and commercial perspective because of the high demand from the industry.With the combination of professional experience, multitasking capacity, and enthusiasm of studying, I am looking forward to exploring job opportunities as a quantitative data analyst.
