Scripps Sports, Vice President Of Operations
Current• Responsible for developing the business strategy, content & operational planning around professional sports (NHL, WNBA, NWSL) & collegiate sports (Big Sky Conference) programming & operations with a focus on driving the highest-level demand, fandom, ratings & revenue.• Work cross functionally, internally and externally, to utilize promotional scheduling & a targeted sponsorship marketing strategies to maximize revenue and operating efficiencies.• Strategic planning and analysis of local/regional sport network media rights & serving in a key senior executive capacity in contract negotiations.• Drive the shaping of the vision, brand, strategy, and execution of Scripps Sports across all platforms with all sports properties.• Oversee all media and team relationships with the goal of ensuring the broadcasts/telecasts are maximized as valuable assets in selling tickets, sponsorships, and in-game and studio advertising inventory. Ensure broadcasts serve as a primary marketing/branding platform for the team.• Develop accurate annual budget goals & closely monitor monthly trends to forecast actual revenue & expense projections throughout the year. Advertising revenues are subject to significant variance based on team performance, ratings, election years, and other external factors. Weekly and daily monitoring of $50M+ operating budget to maintain margin and exceed revenue projections.• Lead the development of creative, integrated corporate partnerships driving both sponsorship and spot sales revenues, while helping build the brand through broadcast activations. Integrate sponsorships into the linear broadcasts and DTC which subtly position the sponsor in a creative and interactive way to fans and viewers.• Create a collaborative business and partnership structure which merges multiple department interests & goals into the broader organizational focus and the overall revenue target for the team.• Reports directly to the President, Scripps Sports.
