Lead a multi-level organization responsible for development and delivery of all student facing applications for the Global subsidiaries and the self-service applications utilized at the University of Phoenix. • Self-Service applications – directed three multi-level teams of 35+ total resources and an annual budget over $20 million through quarterly releases of academic plan, application center, and financial plan self-service applications. • Championed SDLC process and product delivery improvements – worked with global senior IT management, QA, and architecture teams to redevelop the SDLC processes and implement a product delivery methodology to increase delivery frequency from once every 6-9 months to monthly. Implemented new processes across 10 products and 5 universities. Provided full visibility to management and universities of future releases. • Established Global DevOps and Support teams – team provided support across all the global applications for 3 universities. DevOps team automated deployment processes for 75% of the applications reducing time for deployment by as much as 200%. -

Responsible for execution of the digital transformation strategy of the 4 international universities owned at that time. Lead the implementation of the common Enterprise Application Stack (EAS). Implementation of EAS resulted in an 80% reduction in applications supported and 35% reduction in global staff. • Responsible for hiring Global IT development and QA teams – established the global development and QA teams by directly hiring 13 full-time employees. Established a culture of ownership which resulted in essentially a 0% voluntary staff turn-over throughout the 6 years. In addition, hired and managed dozens of consultants and independent contractors. Eventually transitioned QA team to hired QA lead to focus on the development team and efforts, supporting the build-out of the enterprise application stack. • Lead development of the common Enterprise Application Stack (EAS) – In 24 months lead the build-out of the EAS which integrated 13 best-of-bread applications (including Salesforce, Banner, Moodle, Liferay, CAS) across a SOA framework. The completion of the EAS lead to a 50% reduction in the overall IT budget. Implemented the EAS in 3 universities over 22 months reducing the overall supported applications used globally from 221 down to 37, which included over 50 virtual learning environments down to 1 per university. • Rebuilt the student portal – Led the engineering team that rebuilt the student e-commerce portal in 4 months, delivering on-time and within the $1.7M budget. Thus capturing a unique market opportunity due to significant changes in how the certifying entities were going to alter the testing procedures. The portal and systems used, outperformed all other competitors by a minimum of 20% in student pass rates. The institution was able to grow to a 60% market share and added £30M in revenue. -
