I was employed as a Part I Architectural Assistant by a sole practitioner working in a busy office alongside two experienced technicians. As part of the team I produced a range of information from conceptual sketches, planning and building regs drawings, through to full tender and construction information. The practice's work was mainly in the residential, education and commercial sectors.

During a 6 week placement as part of my degree, I researched and produced an in-depth report into the location and effect of the telecommunications masts in the area. It encompassed the future implications of the technology’s infrastructure at local, regional and national level. This document was later referenced in UK Government Green and White Papers on future planning policy.

Whilst studying for my degree in Architecture and Town Planning, I undertook and completed two small architectural projects; a new artist’s studio, and a restaurant fit out, both in Dorset. In both cases the brief was to use traditional materials (inc. Purbeck stone) in modern and innovative ways.

Led a team of 15 staff in a hotel kitchen through busy services. I was also responsible for designing Menu’s alongside the head chef, ordering food supplies, organising staff rotas, and conducting regular stock checks.

Having forged relationships with several local galleries, I sold through them a number of paintings, photographs and artworks in a variety of media. Typically the inspiration for the work came from the local Dorset countryside and coastline.
