At the end two days, the 11 most talented startups, including Gyomo were invited to participate in the accelerator program!

Gyomo utilizes the collective intelligence of employees to prevent phishing attacks by leveraging the real phishing emails that already slip through the network to simultaneously increase security and productivity. Malicious sites are analyzed blocked in near real time, while increasing access to the internet, and productivity, that also gives employees real experience defending against phish.As a founder and CEO I have the opportunity to define the direction for the company and execute on it by creating the right products that meet client needs, on-boarding new clients, building the team, and raising capital to support the growth of the company

Founded Makerspace Charlotte to continue the mission to “demystify the world around you”. Host MakerCamp at Imaginon and Makerspace Charlotte. Designed and implemented an application responsive, asynchronous framework for Online Banking (OLB) utilizing RequireJS, Handlebars, SASS, Foundation, within a Node, Grunt, and Webify build environment. Communication was via Pub/Sub between the modules and restful AJAX/JSON to the backend.

Designed and led the effort to implement a standards based AJAX application consistent with the bank's Web 2.0 initiatives. Prototyped proposed applications with several major AJAX/JS libraries (Prototype, Ext, Yahoo UI, JQuery, DOJO, et al.) to determine the fitness for use and the level of effort required to meet the requirements of various applications, including several in a Vignette Portal environment. Served as the subject matter expert providing guidance and recommendations for the performance optimization project within both eCommerce and Online Banking. Guided teams through the implementation that resulted in significant gains observed in CPU and memory utilization, external metrics such as YSlow and Gomez, as well as various internal standards. Provided ongoing training for multiple eCommerce and OLB development teams on best practices for high volume web applications.

Architected and implemented an inventory application from the ground-up. Chose Ruby on Rails as the framework, and extended the Rails Scaffolding to achieve hands-off relational mapping. Added new AJAX methods to the Prototype JavaScript library to enable AJAX transformations of Rails-produced XML/XHTML data via XSLT. This presentation-layer architecture allowed the same code to be used for either production with an application server, or for demos with static data on the file system and no server required.

Provided architectural design for an AJAX prototype on a large government project. Specified both presentation- and application-tier behavioral requirements for an efficient and effective user experience. Created DHTML templates for JSF components. Interviewed users in a test environment to ascertain real-world behaviors and expectations; developed and produced tangible solutions to address human factors/usability analysis. Created a totally new web interface for a browser based version of an existing client-server application. Architected and implemented all client side code to seamlessly provide intuitive client-server type behavior in a web application. Created JSP's and Tiles, and integrated all DHTML into the JSP's. Rewrote the Struts 1.1 JavaScript validation to allow for more granular control of rules as well as a more user-friendly error handling while at the same time retaining single validation rules definitions.

Provided instruction to managers and developers in the areas of Human Factors Engineering and Interaction Design through the effective use of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. Solely responsible for delivering demos, mockups, and prototypes to the client for review, and templates to other developers for implementation. Created JSP's for a Struts and Tiles based presentation layer. Designed and coded client-side tools that enabled server-side developers to more easily create intuitive DHTML pages.

Developed ASP.Net pages for the Microsoft Careers site in accordance with Microsoft's strict usability guidelines. Dramatically improved performance and stability by converting a processor intensive two-pass server-based parse (XML/XSL) to a one-pass, distributed, client-side parse. Created browser based tools for the automated testing of DHTML pages that could not be automated with traditional testing packages.

Created a dynamic HTML user interface generated by XSL/Transformation of Struts and JSP produced XML for a reverse logistics application. Utilized eXtreme Programming and other agile processes to increase code quality and reduce defects, while creating lean, adaptable code, in an environment of rapidly changing customer driven requirements. Created from scratch a large and robust library of client-side code. Designed and implemented unit tests for all client application code (JavaScript) to facilitate continuous integration.

Utilized the Rational Unified Process to develop a new application from inception through user acceptance. Developed a browser-based XML interface utilizing the MSXML parser, both with and without the use of XMLHTTP Request object (now known as AJAX - Asynchronous Javascript And Xml). Created both CSS and XSL-rendered XML mockups during product inception for planning and requirements generation, as well as for use in sales demos. Provided technical leadership to developers and architects in the use of XSL, ActiveX, JSP, JavaScript, Behaviors, and HTML Components (HTC's).
