I’ve been a war correspondent, a Washington Post bureau chief in Rome, a national security correspondent, a senior writer for Science Magazine, and the Post’s national investigative editor. I've also been a managing editor for national security at the Center for Public Integrity, a nonprofit investigative newsroom in Washington. In those roles, I've written and edited investigative articles about foreign policy, national security, political corruption, ethics, human rights, the judiciary, foreign conflicts, arms control, congressional politics and appropriations, and science policy, to name a few topics. My by-lined articles have appeared in dozens of publications in addition to The Washington Post, including the New York Times Magazine, Foreign Policy, USA Today, the Los Angeles Times, Slate, Salon, the Wall Street Journal, Mother Jones, and the Daily Beast. I'm now a managing director at RosettiStarr LLC, a superb, cutting-edge corporate investigations and security firm in Bethesda, Maryland, where we probe multiple policy and financial issues and solve problems for corporate clients.
