My time at Core Security (formerly "Courion") and NCR as a quality engineer gave me experience in writing & maintaining multiple test suites. Regardless of team I was expected to write out any test case needed to fully qualify a bug fix made by development. I would do this by researching the bug on my own time, attempt to recreate the bug, referencing developers for their input and any descriptions made by the customers with the bug. In addition to just testing if the new fix worked as intended I would have additional tests to verify that the fix did not break related functionality. Any issues found would be reported immediately to the rest of team and I would walk them through what I did to reach there.I graduated December 2014 as Magna Cum Laude with a major in Computer Science and a minor in Software Engineering. During this time my primary experience was within working with a group to get a project done. My largest project involved working with 2 other people in an attempt to update the redesign of a nuclear reactor simulator, which involved refreshing the entire tech chain from visual basic to visual studio 2014's .net infrastructure. I primarily have language experience in C# & Java but I will be up front in saying that its probably an entry-level experience with both.Throughout my projects, I always had to branch out to different languages and try to tackle different problems, so I am willing to try out new things in an attempt to get something done.I mentioned being in groups and I want to emphasize this because I definitely did not do everything on my own; we worked together, split up the work and bounced ideas off each other. I have "leadership" as a skill because I'd try to step in if possible and try to get us back on track if I noticed we were going off on a programming tangent. Sometimes I would try to dole out who would do what in this cases, if only to get us to a point of working forward.
