I have over 23 years experience working in sales support and sales roles within a B2B environment. While working for the Lamar Group I was an employee who was trusted to step up and assist the group when difficult situations arose. On two occasions this involved joining different divisions within the group to help out when sudden staff shortages occurred.When I took over the running of the internal division, KSM Superclean Ltd, I was being asked to go from a sales support role to single handedly running KSMs daily operations. As KSM had a range of machine designs that they manufactured, I was initially tasked with updating and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the machine part and assembly drawings. This required me to teach myself how to use the Solidworks 3D CAD package. I eventually progressed from maintainig these drawings to altering the designs for and building machines. All without any education, training or experience in mechanical engineering.I then joined Tooltime UK Ltd, based in East Kilbride, who are an online retailer selling small home electrical appliances, tools, jewellery boxes and other gift items. As an Ad Listing Administrator, my tasks involved taking new stock items, photographing them for web display and then creating listings for them on Amazon, Ebay and the company website. During the busy time of the year, in the run up to Christmas, I was also required to assist with the picking and packing of orders for timely despatch.I was also tasked with maintaining the company website. This was a Wordpress based site that required regular checks for updates to the base Wordpress system, the theme and plugins used on the site. I designed promotional imagery for site banners to advertise certain promotions, sales and events.I then took a position with Tower Tools & Equipment Ltd, who supply tools to trades in South West and Central Scotland.I was employed as a picker and packer for the internet sales division of Tower Tools, where I was required to pick the days orders and then pack them for despatch with Royal Mail and DPD. This required me to work quickly and accurately to ensure that all orders were despatched on time, especially as some of the orders were being sold through Amazon Prime.When the owner decided to shut this division down, I took over sole running of the division while the existing stocks were deing run down. I was then tasked with redesigning the Tower Tools website, https://towertools.co.uk. Once that task was completed there was no other role for me within the company and I was, reluctantly, let go.
