Naked Politics gives young people the opportunity to write about stories and current events which matter most to them. I pitched the idea of starting a series called 'People We Weren't Taught About', which explored incredible individuals who have sadly been neglected from our textbooks. I was inspired following the Black Lives Matter movement and have been shocked from my research. Being part of the Naked Politics group has hugely improved my confidence in writing and ability to find key information.

From March 2020 to May 2020, I was meant to be volunteering in Tanzania with VSO on their education programme. Unfortunately, due to the escalation of COVID-19, after only 2 weeks we were forced to return to the UK. Despite the drastic changes in circumstances, I still feel I developed my skills whilst away, which I implemented into my local volunteering placements.

During my month volunteering in Calais with Collective Aid, I was part of the sorting and distribution team. I was fortunate enough to work with an inspiring group of volunteers which helped me improve my communication skills. In addition to this, my problem solving skills developed as everyday there were new challenges that we were facing.
