Working at Robert Redding Menswear, I grew as an employee in so many ways. Aside from assisting in the daily tasks of running a small business, I also went outside my comfort zone by working in menswear. I had previously worked with the female customer base, but was able to see the differences in how different target markets shop. I helped aid the customer in finding their perfect look, managed store front while the owner is away, and created an experience for the male shopper to make them feel comfortable in a setting they may not have felt comfortable in before.

As a key-holder, I made sure the store was running smoothly. When customers came into the shop, it was my job to make sure they feel comfortable and are able to enjoy their experience while at Gigi Bottega. Depending on my shift, I would either open or close the store, which really demanded attention to every small detail. If something was done wrong, it would reflect my work ethic, so I was and am always constantly striving to do my best. I really enjoyed working in a small business setting and seeing how the business runs day to day. Gigi Bottega is a well known boutique in Bloomington/Normal, and has a great reputation of being the place to go for the latest trends.We also hosted an event to help bring clients' attention to a new bra line we are carrying. I helped promote the event through social media such as Instagram and Facebook, and also worked the event when the day arrived.

As a Sales Associate for such a well known corporation, it was important I help Loft maintain it's great reputation. Customers are always greeted with a warm smile and introduced to the staff in case they have any questions.I processed shipment every Tuesday to help keep the store organized and full of the newest looks and styles. It was extremely enjoyable being able to work behind the scenes and see how a corporation works.

My job was to enter new patient information into the computer software, as well as verify billing information was correct and up to date. This job was different than my retail positions because of the office atmosphere, but I have enjoyed working in both environments. I also assisted colleagues with whatever tasks they needed help with, and I was able to really learn a lot about the office and how it ran day to day. When the front desk workers were unavailable, I would fill in and work the phones to direct callers to employees that could best help them.
