Veterinary Assistant/Technician Assistant
CurrentThis role began as an entry level position, and my first experience working in a strictly veterinary setting. At the time I was a little over a year into my Vet Tech degree program so, as my education required, I was trained to perform more and more advanced skills as time went on. I was promoted to my current role in September 2021, replacing an LVT on the overnight shift. As an 'acting technician' I am primarily responsible for inpatient care, triages and outpatient care, as well as reception for the majority of the shift, with help from an assistant and the DVM. Working with such a small team has finely honed both my communication and interpersonal skills, as well as my nursing skills.
