Social Science Analyst
Current- Lead high-quality, impactful, and timely evaluations on topics critical to the mission of OIG to promote the efficiency and effectiveness of HHS programs; specific areas of policy and practical expertise include Medicare Part A payment systems (hospitals, skilled nursing facilities), Medicare quality of care (hospices, nursing facilities), and Medicare and Medicaid health equity- Conduct, and lead teams in conducting, evaluations from strategic planning, evaluation design, data collection and analysis, synthesis, drawing conclusions, and report creation through all phases of the executive review process, maximizing the impact of reports and recommendations, and following up on the implementation of recommendations post-publication- Collect data and conduct data analysis using qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques, including surveys, interviews, and statistical software (SAS); extensive experience analyzing large, complex data sets (e.g., Medicare claims)- Write clear, concise, and compelling reports communicating technical information in accessible ways for Department, Congressional, and public audiences-Maximize efficiency and impact through technology, collaboration, and innovation: solicit and incorporate feedback from numerous reviewers; prepare and present oral briefings for internal and external audiences, including staff from the program under evaluation, Congressional staff, and media; manage multiple projects simultaneously- Ensure quality assurance reviews to verify adequacy and accuracy of work and its adherence to standards- Interpret and apply laws, regulations, legislation, policies, and procedures in various policy areas- Serve as a resource, mentor, and/or coach to analysts and colleagues
