If anyone would have asked me twenty years ago what job I would have when I grew up, I would have confidently responded: teacher! Although I took a detour through the Hospitality industry, when I landed in education, I knew it was the perfect fit. After four years of teaching preschool, I decided to go back to school at San Jose State University to receive my Master's in Teaching Elementary Education and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. Throughout my two semesters spent Student Teaching, I learned from two of the best teachers in Union School District. Their knowledge, specifically in classroom management, educational technology, reading instruction, and Social Emotional Learning, has proved invaluable in my Substitute Teaching and Private Tutoring experiences. I look forward to teaching in an elementary classroom full-time very soon and helping create the positive educational experience that students deserve.
