Coordinate the flow of up to 80 patients daily, for a single physician in a 6 room physiatry clinic. Pre-screen each patient to provide the physician with accurate medical history and to ensure ethical and legal requirements are met. Educate patients on pre/post exam procedures, diagnostic testing, lab results, medications and home treatments. Travel to and attend sales meetings and training seminars with medical/pharmaceutical representatives and collaborate with physician on how to incorporate new products within patient treatment plans. Collaborate with physician to align patient care with insurance regulations to allow patients to obtain the best care at the lowest cost. Responsible for ensuring procedures exist within the practice to maintain compliance with HIPAA and OSHA standards. Ensure procedures are scheduled and precertified at outside clinics. Prepare physician schedule at Indiana Specialty Surgery Center and Surgicare for epidural steroid injections, Discograms, and Spinal Cord Stimulator trials. Ensure prior testing and authorization completed for all procedures if necessary. Travel with physician to Volunteers in Medicine to assist healthcare professionals in providing health care to the uninsured. Implement and perform random drug testing and narcotic medication management program. Work closely with surrounding Radiological, Physical, Occupational, Speech, Durable Medical Equipment, Pharmacies and Orthotic facilities and distributors to ensure the most efficient treatment is provided for each patient at the lowest cost. Maintained clinical and administrative inventory. Liaison between nurse case manager and insurance company for Workman's Compensation, Motor Vehicle Accident and legal cases. Implement and train employees on electronic scripting (e-scrpts). Attend training seminars on Forteo, an anabolic osteoporosis medication administered as a daily injectable. Administer first treatment, train and educate patients prescribed Forteo.

Work with other healthcare professionals in facilitating treatment and healthcare for patients of a lower socioeconomic background in a free health clinic. Prepare patient rooms, collect vitals, and gather preliminary information pertaining to the reason for the patients visit. Provide prescriptions and inform patients of their on-going treatment plan. Provide nutritional counseling and discuss smoking cessation as needed.

Interned in a clinical specialty practice (Otorhinolaryngology) where I aided physicians, nurses and PAs in diagnostic and treatment procedures. Completed over 300 hours of shadowing a Physician Assistant.
