Design and execution of metaproteomics studies on soil samples, as part of DOE-funded research into the effects of climate change on soil carbon cycling. Using HPLC mass spectrometry and bioinformatics analysis of whole community protein identites to assess metabolic function and community structure of the soil microbiome. Leading and management of undergraduate support. Leading safety operations in a BSL2 space, and contributing to financial / laboratory stewardship responsibilities.

• Clone mutant AAV vector constructs from extracted E.coli plasmid DNA for in vitro study of promoter function at the AAV2 inverted terminal repeat (ITR) in primary and continuous cell lines.• Execute precise viral production protocols to isolate vector preparations and assess viral titers via qPCR analysis or radiolabeled southern blot for downstream application, including cell transduction and small animal injection.• Culture HEK293-derived adherent cells as in vitro gene editing model to investigate role of AAV vectors as template delivery vehicles and stimulatory molecules of endogenous DNA damage response elements.• Adapt and utilize a range of techniques for analysis of vector expression in harvested cells/tissues, and present finished figures at weekly Gene Therapy Center lab meetings or in conference with the principal investigator. • Create and manage necessary administrative systems to ease communication with Environmental Health and Safety oversight committees, and maintain an organized inventory of general laboratory supplies, reagents, and expenses.

Worked closely with a Ph.D. student in studying cytoskeleton dynamics using Drosophila melanogaster model. Additionally maintained laboratory inventory and training of other undergraduate assistants.
