Experience and responsibilities included: - Participated in statewide trainings to develop a working knowledge of Washington State prevention systems and best practices in prevention science. - Shadowed existing prevention coalitions in Spokane County to gain insight on community assessment, strategic planning and policy development, implementation of programs and public awareness campaigns, and evaluation of prevention and health promotion services. - Assisted communities in Spokane County with building capacity for prevention coalitions by engaging local leaders in the assessment of needs and resources, identifying opportunities to foster community engagement, increasing awareness of prevention science, and strategizing measures of sustainability.

Implemented evidence-based health promotion, prevention education, and intervention programs for WSU students to support mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing. Responsibilities included: - Facilitated workshops on topics including mental health promotion, suicide prevention, alcohol and other drug intervention, violence prevention, and general life skills for groups ranging from 10-150 people.- Logistical coordination of individual, group, and WSU departmental trainings.- Trained co-facilitators and peer health educators on mental health promotion and substance use disorder prevention programs.
