As a systems analyst within Cyber and Infrastructure Resilience, I have contributed to a wide variety of efforts aimed at improving the security of our critical infrastructure systems. I have led a dozen projects and cross-lab collaboration efforts with teams of up to ten people. My work on these projects has included experimental design, open source and intel-based research, software design and implementation, and interdependency modeling. I am currently the capability manager for an infrastructure interdependency modeling tool that is being funded at $4mil across five projects. Beyond those projects, I have won two division-wide awards for work involving Ukraine, which created the foundation for a new program capability. Lastly, mentorship is a passion of mine at LLNL, and I am a mentor to three junior (<1 year) staff and am the direct mentor to four interns on my projects this summer, with 12 total across the projects I help coordinate.

Greater Atlanta Area

For a Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) project to improve community resilience, I developed a framework to augment the GDOT emergency-identification system with parsed Twitter data to improve community resilience. Project was greenlit for full development. I created a solution that satisfied data access concerns, used the existing data management system, and was compatible with the 3rd party analysis and visualization software already in use. Ultimately, our project exceeded client expectations by isolating geographies for which UVI usage could identify emergencies closer to time-zero. Across the project, I managed project design scope, data analytics, deliverables timeline, site visits, feedback from multiple different client divisions, and data access for the team.

Atlanta, Georgia, United States

I designed, iterated, and executed a year-long research plan that produced: two peer-reviewed conference papers; two journal papers; and a full system design that was presented to city, state, and federal emergency responders. My results provided solution pathways for significant flaw in social media analyses (failure to consider absent data and social vulnerability factor influence). Over the course of my research, I exhibited strong learning agility in self-teaching python, RStudio, JSON, and streaming APIs within deliverable timelines.

Private environmental sector due diligence work, including Phase I&II Environmental Site Assessments, report writing and analysis, and hazardous waste remediation (including but not limited to groundwater, soils, and vapor migration).

Front Range, Colorado

I spent four weeks in the field collecting data samples from various tailings ponds and mine waste deposits in Fourmile Canyon, Colorado. I returned to Washington and Lee to run the Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure (TCLP) on more than 104 samples and then used GIS to analyze the spatial and geochemical trends and potential hazards of the samples. I presented the analysis at the GSA 2014 convention, at the Keck 2015 convention, and at my thesis defense.

Lexington, Virginia

I analyzed longitudinal and spatial trends in data from hundreds of thousands of unconventional natural gas well logs, determined potential areas of risk and cost reduction, and presented my findings at an international convention for geology and at a regional entrepreneurship summit.
