I am an experienced PCSO, with 14 years service all with Cleveland Police. The majority of my work involves multi-agency working to effectively problem solve issues within the communities that I work. I have completed several courses including Personal Safety and First Aid Courses (which are refreshed on a yearly basis) and also a basic driver course, neighbourhood policing development days, crime recording, PCSO development days, Iris/Niche user training, airwaves training and vulnerability development days – all of which are vital to my day to day role. I have completed training around Coercive and Controlling Behaviour.I have completed the Dementia Friends Training as well as Saton Force training, which took place alongside the EOD operatives based at Catterick, these courses were at my own request for my professional development. In 2018, I worked on a 4 week attachment with the Major Investigation Team, where I was shadowing current DC’s and PSI’s working on current, complex cases.I completed at course at the University of Teesside in Evidence Based Practice and have submitted a research proposal around Policing rural communities, which is something that I became interested in following me working alongside one of the Wildlife Crime Officers. I regularly work Op Checkpoint evenings and attend Rual Crime Forum meetings where possible. I recently completed a 6 month secondment in Corporate Services, working on a "Let's Innovate" project, which was moderating and re-launching a staff suggestion scheme.I am a blue light champion, which is a signposting service for colleagues who are experiencing mental health issues. I am also a TRiM practitioner.I am have completed my level 2 cache qualification in Mental Health Awareness as a distance learning course, and I have also completed my First Aid Mental Health training. I am currently enrolled on Inspire talent development course, which is due to be completed in September 2020, and as part of that course, I am currently working towards my level 5 award in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. I am currently working with The Girls Network on their mentoring programme and I am currently waiting to be matched with my mentee.
