Process engineer

I worked as a project engineer at Olleco for my placement year. Here I learnt a lot about the process of installation and making changes on a plant, while implanting my university knowledge with calculations required in a project such as mass and energy balance. I also spent 3 weeks on shift working with the operators which was a great way to learn what happens on the plant and understand how changes effect operation. In my time here, I commissioned 2 smaller safety projects including the installation of a safety shower. I also worked on larger improvement projects which have since been commissioned.

Engineers without Borders is a program that enables us to introduce engineering problems to younger children and give them fun and creative ways to solve it. We present a module such as 'Shelter for the World' and then give an activity, here the class are given different areas with different climate conditions and a number of 'credits' to build a house from a set of materials.
