I am a Disaster Management and Emergency Planning Graduate from Coventry University. Some of the areas I have focused on within this course are Business Continuity, Crisis Management, Emergency Planning, Managing Crowded Places and Assessing and Managing Risk. After gaining a particular interest in Emergency Planning, I undertook a placement year (2019-2020) at South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue in the Resilience, Planning and Contingencies department focusing mainly on Business Continuity and Contingency Planning. Throughout the year I was involved in the response to three major incidents including the 2019 South Yorkshire floods, COVID-19 and a major moorland fire. I am now working within Sussex Community NHS Foundation trust as the Emergency Planning Officer.
