We are currently implementing and learning from our culturally and linguistically responsive partnership with schools and central offices, aimed at reconfiguring school leadership and central office work to support culturally relevant pedagogy in the classroom. Senior Director Of Learning Systems

Long Island City, New York

Lead the development of organizational strategy related to online and blended learning for school and district leaders, as well as the development of products and services in this area. NYCLA successfully converted 90% of our face-to-face engagements to virtual ones in the era of COVID-19. These engagements included intensive multi-day institutes like Foundations of Principal Supervision and aspiring principals' programs in various districts around the country as well as virtual facilitation training. We focused particularly on establishing online environments that created the conditions necessary for participants to engage in productive virtual conversations about race and equity.Specific products we developed included a set of self-guided online "mentor modules" for sitting principals overseeing "resident" principals as part of an aspiring principals' programs. Modules can be used in multiple ways by program administrators to support mentors, who play a key role in the success of aspiring principals. We have also offered a "blended residency" experience for aspiring principals. These developing leaders served as yearlong "residents" in selected school sites under the guidance of mentor principals. Throughout the year, the cohort came together regularly (both in person and online) to work through a curriculum aligned with their leadership responsibilities.
