As an adjunct instructor, I was responsible for teaching the online section of Introduction to Human Resource Development, a graduate degree course. I communicated regularly with students via email to answer any questions, graded assignments, created course content for specific sections, and utilized Blackboard to post and communicate with students.During this experience, I mastered my ability to use Blackboard and successfully communicate with students in multiple areas of the country, I improved my ability to lead and make decisions as an instructor, and broadened my teaching and presentation skills.

During this assistantship, I taught Characteristics of Human Resource Development, an undergraduate degree course. My responsibilities included presenting material to students in-class as well as online, grading and assisting students with questions regarding the course, advising students regarding their coursework, using Blackboard for course information and developing additional content when needed.After completing this role, I grasped the art of being an effective leader, developed and enhanced my teaching and presentation skills, maximized my ability to work autonomously as well as within a team, and expanded my knowledge in teaching adult learners."Rachel was an outstanding graduate student and graduate assistant in our department at Indiana State University. During this experience, I served as an administrative assistant and completed duties to assist with the payroll of all university employees. I assisted employees with questions regarding their pay, assisted different staff members to process their individual payrolls and maintained organization by filing and keeping the office in order.As a result of this role, I strengthened my customer service skills, learned to manage and prioritize my time in order to meet deadlines, and broadened my ability to work successfully with counterparts to ensure responsibilities were completed.

During this internship, I and another intern were responsible for organizing and coordinating the hospital's Annual Diversity Fair for employees and the community. We worked with various individuals within the hospital and the community to participate in and support the event. As an intern, I also worked with Human Resources on general HR tasks as well as HR tasks specific to the healthcare industry. From this experience, I strengthened my communication and marketing skills, increased my knowledge regarding Diversity and its influence within an organization, developed my experience planning a large level event, and boosted my professional skills inside and outside of the workplace.
