As a military spouse and mother of 7, I have followed my husband around getting short term jobs so he could pursue his career and serve our country. It is now my time to focus on building my career and making my mark on the world. I have worn many hats working retail, at a fishing lodge, volunteered as an EMT/Firefighter, then as a Behavioral Health Technician running detox five nights a week. I have taken every challenge faced and worked hard to overcome and excel. I am stubborn when told there is something I cannot achieve, so I set out to prove I can. I did not have a traditional early education, entering school for the first time at 16, after being placed in foster care. I crammed 12 years of school in three, and went on to go to college despite many believing it was impossible. My last semester of high school I was taking dual enrollment college classes, but ran out of time in foster care, leaving me homeless and working towards solutions. I finished out my college courses and took on additional work, choosing food and lodging over my last couple classes in high school and got my GED instead. I have much to be thankful for and many people who helped me get to where I am now. I look forward to the connections made and meeting those who wish to grow and build with me....I am just getting started.
