About Rachel Freedman

I recently arrived in Portland and am looking for an opportunity to become involved with, and learn from, a local movement addressing issues of social justice, human rights, and economic equality. Through my post-colonial studies background, I have built a broad, historical context for understanding economic and cultural exploitation and the relationship between politics and social power. Through my work and service experience, I have gained an understanding of the importance of practical application, community involvement, and agency. I look forward to applying my skills, work ethic, and passion in solidarity with those in the Greater Portland Community who are fighting toward equality.
