CurrentJob responsibilities include providing technical support to Whole genome sequencing team of viral pathogens which includes monitoring the laboratory process, instrument management and trouble shooting. Providing technical inputs in molecular diagnostics of infectious diseases including detection of SARS-CoV-2 and Viral hepatitis through RT-PCR, results interpretation and monitoring the laboratory processes. Involving in disease management of SARS-CoV-2 by preparing the report and dispatching the results of samples tested in the laboratory to public health officials for further containment of the diseases as a part of Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomic Consortium (INSACOG). Worked collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to contribute to technical delivery of projects which helped in publishing research articles in high impact journals. Contributed to capacity building by conducting training programs to medical personals from different medical colleges for the implementation of whole genome sequencing platforms, including validation, troubleshooting, and testing of a range of viral pathogens of public health importance and mentoring the graduate students. Involved in laboratory strengthening activities where appropriate including preparation of budget, research projects and reports of the division and providing technical advice to the division in purchase and bids.
