During my 11-week DFP fellowship project, I focused on the National Wild and Scenic Rivers Act and how climate change is affecting Alaska’s Refuges and designated “wild” rivers. I used GIS and ArcGIS StoryMap to create an immersive narrative by combing text, interactive maps and other multimedia content. The storymaps identifying and explained how we can use adaptive techniques to manage river health thoughtfully to insure the best overall outcomes for river values, which are trust resources belonging to the American people. I had the opportunity to work in the Anchorage Regional Office, Kenai Refuge headquarters and the Selawik Refuge Headquarters in Alaska.

• Conduct research in a variety of focus areas: ecological threats, climate change adaptation, sustainable agriculture, forest protection and ecotourism; and identifying other focus sectors that support Global Alliance targets. • Write, edit, and produce digital content across all social media channels and the company website on WordPress. • Support Global Alliance by telling our story that resonates and builds engagement with partners and the public, globally. • Analyze information on potential partners and prepare substantive briefs. Support outreach to governments, private sector, non-government, and international development partners • Conduct research to capture Global Alliance’s progress, achievements, and impact. Provide timely support on brochures, publications, and press releases.
