Hi, I'm Raf!While in school, I participated in multiple programs that aimed to accelerate my education and work experience. At 14, I was taking college classes on campus with other college students in Kingsborough College through the early college program. I participated in lots of school activities, like the National Honor Society, Deans' List, and TKD - all of which taught me core skills in dedication, commitment, and discipline. I also loved to tutor my peers, and assist with all types of assignments, managing a small business and learning about the importance of time management and deadlines. When I became 16 I started my career working under government programs like SYEP and WLG aimed to allow young adults to jump start their work experience by providing subsidized jobs in real-world environments. With these experiences, I learned cooperation, how to better communicate with my peers, and planning on the execution of projects and management. After graduating with an Associate's Degree and Highschool Diploma in the year 2020, I dived into computer science. Constantly tinkering with the knowledge I gained during classes, I would document everything and give out my notes to my colleagues. I continued my tutoring and kept practicing, and it was here at Brooklyn College in my second and final year I heard about the Tech Talent Pipeline program, a government initiative to allow college students to connect with tech positions and real-world experience. I created my project, completed coding challenges and interviewed for a position in this program, and was accepted to it, which led to a rigorous month-long boot camp in web development. Learning all types of technologies (you can see them listed in the experience tab!) I then solidified my knowledge for the upcoming internship that would take place in the summer of 2022 by taking mock interviews and creating my very own personal full-stack website. I am currently working at Quadrant 2, an amazing app development company where I am learning so much about app development and other technologies like Angular and NativeScript. With real projects, assignments, and work environments, I am learning more and more every day. I set myself a goal every day, and I work hard to make sure I fulfill it. That goal is to be a better developer than the one I was yesterday.
