Project Coordinator

Brazil

As a Project Officer, I coordinated the UNODC activities in Pernambuco State (brazilian Northeast), managing a project budget of USD 300k, and impacting 184 cities. I mobilized institutional agents from the Northeast region, especially from the state of Pernambuco, regarding the UNODC Mandate, with emphasis on the crime and violence prevention agenda, raising around USD 1 million in new projects for UNODC. I also coordinated the implementation of the "Youth Ambassadors" program, which successfully trained 25 young leaders hailing from 17 different cities within the Pernambuco state, introducing new technical criteria rooted in science for the selection process, emphasizing ethnic, gender, and geographical diversity.I offered technical training for 29 NGO institutions selected through a public call issued by the Secretary of Policies for Violence and Drug Prevention in Pernambuco (SPVD). As result of Pernambuco's achievements, the technical team was invited to provide the same training across Cape Verde. This initiative included thematic workshops, guided walks, and the production of socio-community diagnostics regarding the dynamics of violence and crime, which pose obstacles to human security in the three prioritized territories.Among my responsibilities, I coordinated the administrative activities of the project, monitoring the physical-financial implementation (budget execution, payments, and financial reporting to donors), leading the process of delivering UNODC products to the UNDP and national partners and donors. I also took on the responsibility of overseeing the development of various studies and research initiatives, ensuring that they met the highest standards of quality and relevance.
