CurrentAs a Research and Development Engineer specializing in hybrid and electric vehicle technologies, I lead comprehensive teardown analysis of newly launched Hybrid and Electric Vehicles. My work focuses on understanding and evaluating the architecture, design, and components of key systems, such as E Drive units, High Voltage (HV) Batteries, and Power Electronics modules.In our teardown process, we meticulously disassemble and analyze every part of the vehicle, from propulsion systems to auxiliary components, capturing detailed data on materials, design methodologies, manufacturing processes, and integration techniques. The insights gathered from this analysis are systematically documented and stored in our specialized benchmarking tool.I assess each component to identify industry-leading designs, often benchmarking these parts against counterparts from competing models. If a part meets or exceeds industry standards, it is designated as a "benchmark" and retained for future reference. My role involves comparing these benchmark components across different vehicles, providing data-driven recommendations to support design optimization and cost efficiency for upcoming vehicle platforms.This iterative analysis allows me to generate improvement ideas for our engineering teams, contributing to the continuous enhancement of vehicle performance, safety, and efficiency. My efforts are not limited to individual component analysis but extend to understanding the entire vehicle system to ensure that learnings are translated into holistic vehicle improvements. This benchmarking approach ensures our engineering strategies remain at the forefront of automotive innovation.
