Role synopsis: My work scope was to manage all post-fixture operations for controlled and spot chartered tonnage; coordinating the day-to-day operational activities of owned, time and voyage charter ships and ensuring compliance with the agreed charter party terms. The position draws on expertise to safely manage the marine and commercial risks associated with moving hydrocarbon cargoes by sea.Key accountabilities: - Coordinating operational activities of Spot, time-chartered and bare-board chartered vessels in accordance with BP Shipping/IST and its charter party terms and conditions. - Liaising and coordinating for day-to-day shipping operations with various stakeholders including charterers, brokers, port agents, fleet operations team, Vetting and Clearance team, cargo assurance teams, IST oil operations and respective vessels as required.- Liaison with P&I club and internal legal counsels to protect our interest at times as owners and at times as charterers. - Voyage management including planning, instructing, monitoring and assisting / resolving issues related to stowage, tank-cleaning, loading, carriage, care and discharging of cargo for own and spot-chartered vessels.- Planning and procurement of bunkers, deslopping, and other supported ancillary services for own and time-chartered vessels to provide cost-effective bunkering and maximum cargo uplift.- Assisting chartering, IST and commercial teams in dealing with freight invoicing, demurrage, performance monitoring, and various other claims, by providing current industry guidelines and practices. - Actively participating in team efforts towards further improving operational practices to achieve harmonization and improvement in working procedures.- Member of BP Shipping’s “Incident Management team”.

Key accountabilities: Ensure sea-worthiness and cargo-worthiness of vessel, tank preparations for loading different grades of cargo and cargo care at sea, maintenance of vessel including load line items, Fire-fighting systems and Life Saving equipment. Impart training to ensure people are with right skill and tools. Carry out risk assessment and mitigation to ensure occupational health and safety at all times. Procurement and manage resources on board. Conduct safe navigation of vessel. Man management and discipline on board.

Key accountabilities: Conduct safe navigation of vessel and cargo operations. Assist chief officer in maintenance of LSA/FFA equipment and participate in deck maintenance. Manage and maintain all navigational equipment and passage planning.
