Thesis title: “Histone H3 lysine 56 acetylation and deacetylation pathways as targets for novel antifungal therapies in Candida albicans”Led research project that involved characterization of an important and virgin fungal-specific pathway in the pathogenic yeast -Design and conduct scientific experiments to answer different questions pertaining to a medically important fungal specific pathway. -Implement innovative technologies in Molecular Biology and genetics, like CRISPR, to generate molecular tools for research in Candida albicans. Developed novel LC-MS assay to determine cellular concentrations of metabolites.- Reviewed the literature, designed and executed experiments. Data collection and analysis. Communicated our results to experts in the field (high-impact peer-reviewed journals and international conferences) - Formed collaborations with experts in the field for fast-tracking projects which resulted in high- impact publications.
