Anchor-Journalist Lok Sabha TvLok Sabha, Parliament Of India Jul 2006 - Mar 2008New Delhi, Delhi, IndiaBeing a part of the team that started the channel I gained experience not just in my designated responsibilities but also in the field of production and management. To begin with I anchored, literally, hundreds of live shows on a broad range of issues ranging from politics, economy, corporate, health etc. With each show I became more adept at this task and to hold my ground even in times when problems (technical/production) arose. Since it was a small team, I did research, reporting and production work for the very shows I anchored. As a result, my own presentation had the depth and I became a multi-tasker. Furthermore, I did reporting and programming in Hindi as well. I was one of the few in the channel who could do programmes in both the languages with ease. In addition to the routine shows and stories on politics and parliament, I produced a number of field programmes. One of the high-points at Lok Sabha TV was covering the Union Budget of 2007-08 and 2008-09. I anchored and co-produced a series of pre-budget programmes and did analysis with experts, live, on the budget day. It was a great opportunity which very few get at the start of their career. Something, which would have not been possible in an already established television network. I also got a close look at the functioning of the government and their style of management. Working with professionals from the private sector and also government officials was a learning experience. -
Production ExecutiveZee Business Feb 2006 - Jul 2006Noida, Uttar Pradesh, IndiaZee is one of the best organizations to start one’s career with, for it allows people to go ahead and learn. I was primarily at desk but also reported and assisted in production of a show on taxation. The desk job involved working on agency stories, scripting, run-down, producing packages and video-editing them. Bulk of my work was news than programming. Had a great team and seniors from whom I learnt a lot.
