Assistant Director Of Communications
Current-Lead public relations strategy, content development and internal coordination in partnership with external PR agency, increasing the amount of overall media coverage by 114% YoY and contributing to nationwide coverage of Massachusetts’ passage of permanent free school meals for K-12 students -Steward relationships with media partners WHDH 7News and Beasley Media group for in-kind opportunities-Manage Communications departmental and special projects, including statewide, integrated communications campaigns reaching over 1 million MA residents and events to build visibility for Project Bread’s programs, initiatives, thought leadership and fundraising efforts -Supervise full-time Communications Associate and Events Manager roles with primary authority for personnel decisions -Establish and track department budgets and reconciliations -Led event coordination and media promotion for the first in-person Walk for Hunger since post-pandemic in 2023 with 4,000 registered participants -Develop and implement processes for communications initiatives to improve workflow and increase visibility within the organization-Coordinate with internal and external partners including PR agency, design agency, community grantees, and program participants-Evaluate communications initiatives for future optimization |-Create materials and collateral to support communications and awareness initiatives -Write, Edit, and Proofread content, including blogs, print materials, newsletters, press releases, speeches and talking points to ensure they represent the best interest of the company and are consistent with public relations objectives and policies -Participate on the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice Committee and the Research Advisory Council
