I am an enthusiastic Computer Science student at the University of Calgary, and I enjoy building projects as well as contributing to existing projects. As of January 2024, I am a member of the Tech Start UCalgary club as a Unity C# Developer. The team I am on is developing a Unity extension that allows for efficient VR development. I've had a great time working on the project so far and I'm excited to see the end result.I have also worked on various personal projects. My most important project is called the Habit Matrix, which is a command-line based system for developing habits. The user can create new habits and customize the time in which they would like to complete them. The user can then log in to see a list of habits and reminders for each day. Throughout the day, they can mark tasks as completed and may view a calendar that shows them which days they completed all of their tasks. This was a fun way to turn habit formation into an entertaining game, with all the features I thought would add to the experience. I still use the tool to keep on top of things and keep reminders for myself. One course focused on Design and Analysis of Algorithms, and taught me the techniques used in crafting and evaluating algorithms. My Computer Networks course taught the general layout of the internet, and was packed with examples of how systems have evolved over time. One very challenging course for me was Computer Graphics, as it was highly math-heavy and diverse, but the topics were always filled with interesting algorithms that show the creativity of those who developed them. Finally, a Databases course was also a great experience in the practicalities of relational databases. I learned about the techniques behind designing them, as well as the advantages and drawbacks of different methods. The course was a great introduction to database design and queries.
