As the Event Coordinator, I carried many roles in this department which kept me busy and on my toes. It was a great position that helped me to become an exceptional event planner. Duties in this role included:> Helping to plan and manage conferences from 60+ to 400+ attendees.> Overseeing the food and beverage menus for conferences and receptions.> Negotiating pricing with vendors at conferences and all-hands events.> Processing registration transactions and refunds.> Implementing venue logistics for on-site events.> Handling event-related customer service questions via email and phone.> Utilizing project management skills by overseeing the production and updates to training materials, including customization of agendas, vendor support, and shipping.

I joined Satmetrix as the front desk receptionist, with the interest in joining the Human Resources team. Two weeks into my role, I was asked to temporarily fill-in and support the CEO as the prior E.A resigned. After 4 weeks of owning the desk, the CEO offered me the role. Some of the important tasks performed are highlighted:> Assisted the CEO and the executive staff with heavy calendar management using Outlook.> Arranged heavy domestic and international round-the-world travel plans and itineraries.> Assisted the CEO and CFO with preparations for quarterly board meetings.> Composed emails and memos on behalf of the CEO.> Managed budgets for corporate events and special projects.> Planned and coordinated board meeting dinners, all-hands company events, holiday parties and other internal cultural events.> Maintained confidentiality of all corporate and personnel matters.> Received an ‘Outstanding Achievement Award’ for 2007-2008 for mastering the E.A. role.> Received acknowledgement in a book written by the CEO and Vice President of Consulting, “Answering the Ultimate Question” for assisting the team with editing and working with the publishing company.

This role was a fascinating one, especially as an early college student. Working for Dr. Patricia Cowings and Dr. William Toscano was a true privilege and they taught me quite a bit about space! A few of my duties performed:> Managed general office area for two psychology researchers, Dr. Cowings and Dr. Toscano > Maintained heavy calendaring to coordinator travel and meetings> Performed general clerical duties: faxing, mailing, handled packages and filing> Filed and retrieved documents, records and psychological reports on Motion Sickness in Astronauts
