Designed and developed Java Reactive Database Driver for Db2. Implemented Reactive Relational Database Connectivity (R2DBC) API and provided non-blocking asynchronous API support for relational database access. Provided support for Java Spring Project Reactor framework. This is an all new driver developed from scratch. Implemented DRDA protocol used for connectivity between Db2 server and the client, message flows for each of the features supported through the API. Implemented support for Connection Pooling natively in the driver. Implemented support for Prepared Statement caching, support for client side licensing for the reactive driver. Provided JavaDoc for all the API calls with sample code. Wrote Install Guide, Developer Guide and Debugging Guide for the driver. Developed 600+ automated tests that tested the complete functionality of the driver.Provided support for JCC product, the Db2 JDBC driver. Attended to many customer issues, addressed and resolved them.Provided support for CLPPlus product, a client side interactive tool to submit queries to Db2 and generate reports.

Designed and implemented an efficient SPARQL query processing algorithm. This algorithm is able to handle complex SPARQL queries with multiple unions, optionals, subqueries and complex filters effectively and generates access plan to retrieve the data stored in Db2. Designed and implemented SPARQL 1.1 Query Parser for Db2 RDF product. It was implemented in a short time frame during crisis time when an earlier implementation had issues and we could not make progress with the product development. Implemented the parser using ANTLR with AST generation. Worked on the legacy code base of Db2 embedded SQL. Understood the various modules and helped the team understand the product better. Also documented the architecture of the product. Then lead the team to design and implement the Oracle compatible features to help users migrating from Oracle to Db2. Implemented enhancements for Db2 CLI client optimizer library. This helped for static execution of the dynamic SQLs from the user. Developed interactive demo packages to help users understand the effective usage of client optimizer functionality. Designed and implemented a Graphical Terminal for CLPPlus product. This terminal provided the benefits of both command line window and a GUI to the users. Users could type the commands as in a Command window and the results are presented using Graphical Table widgets in the same window followed by the command prompt. This helped for better presentation of the results and helped users to edit multiline SQL commands easily. Lead the design and development effort for Db2 CLPPlus product. This tool provided compatibility features of Oracle SQL*Plus and is being used by customers migrating from Oracle to Db2. I was there from the inception through the complete life cycle of this product - design, development, testing, internationalization, packaging, documentation and customer support.

Worked on the hardware and software architecture to migrate Provisioning and Activation applications from the large expensive HP and Sun server hardware to a cluster of cheaper Intel based servers. Worked on the design changes required in the middleware and in the applications. Worked on the design and plan to migrate our applications from the expensive commercial databases to open source databases primarily PostgreSQL. Designed and implemented support for PostgreSQL and Oracle in the VZDB database layer used by our applications. Designed and implemented support for Python in the CEM middleware tool used by our organization. The CEM module implemented for Python is capable of understanding all the interfaces to various servers and the messages used dynamically. This enabled easier and quicker development of heavy-duty client scripts and scripts to test a server under development. Designed and developed a scripting system to define and develop NGTM Workflows, a workflow manager used by the Provisioning Systems in our organization. This tool enabled easy development and maintenance of large workflows used in the provisioning applications. Designed the algorithm for automatic broadcast video circuit design for Video Circuit Provisioning systems. This enabled automatic path discovery from the source to destination and the cross connects to be established in the optical network elements and the development of detailed work order document for the technicians to complete the manual tasks in the provisioning flow. Designed the stacking rules algorithm for pending order stack. This helped to find quickly whether to accept or deny an order based on the previously accepted pending orders for the related entities. The algorithm was designed generically so that it can be used for all the service order processing systems.

This framework included various utilities for easy and quicker development of functional tests and included interface simulators, db utilities, memory leak detection utilities and various functions to measure the performance of specific tests. Designed and developed a C++ class generator for various data types defined in an XML schema. This enabled easy use of XML data and XML generation from the C++ classes for the application developers. Designed and implemented a decision-making system using Stuttgart Neural Network Simulator (SNNS). This system is capable of making decisions based on the facts provided. Studied the feasibility of using this system to provide suggestions to users fixing order fallouts in a provisioning flow and train the system based on the actual decisions taken and in the long run help improve the productivity of the users. This workshop covered: - Data type definition using ASN.1, Basic Encoding Rules (BER) - MIB modelling using GDMO - Functionalities provided by CMIP protocol. Studied various TMN Toolkit vendors (DSET, Vertel, HP and IBM) and helped the project teams to understand them and compare them. Did a detailed study on CMIP Technology and CORBA Technology from the perspective of developing Network Management applications and helped the project teams, which tried to understand them in detail and select the technology that best suited their need.
