I have worked with non-profits and research projects on the issues of urban governance, sustainability, migration, rural livelihoods, gender, education and nutrition.As a Young India Fellow, I developed a multi-disciplinary lens to understand social and development challenges which I further honed through a masters in development studies from the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex, UK.I am interested in funding agencies, consultancies, think tanks and research organisations in the social impact/development space.

Research AssociateCentre For Budget And Policy Studies Oct 2018 - Jul 2019BangaloreAs a Research Associate in the Centre for Budget and Policy Studies, I was part of two research projects and prepared a project proposal. During this stint I was part of multiple research teams running on tight deadlines. > Action Research project with education interventions for adolescent girls (Malala Foundation). Built from feminist pedagogies, this project involved rolling out an empowerment based mentorship programme for adolescent girls across ten schools in rural Bihar. I conducted both primary and secondary research involving remote interviews, data cleaning and analysis. The results of the baseline survey for this project was presented to government officials and other stakeholders in Patna, 2019>Budget analysis, Karnataka government Funded by UNICEF, this project involved analysis of Nutrition, Food and Health system interventions conducted by state government to assess its alignment with India's stated aims under the Sustainable Development Goals. After acquiring the relevant data from state government departments, I along with my team members mapped government expenditure with human development indicators disaggregated at the district level for Karnataka. This study allowed for better understanding of the government's performance with respect to aligning local development pathways to SDG goals.> Bangalore Air Quality Study Proposal I was responsible for drafting a research proposal to estimate Bangalore's air pollution burden. This involved primary and secondary research and I interacted with stakeholders in Bangalore and surveyed estimation methods performed by other Indian cities as part of the research design process.

I conducted scoping studies, surveys, interviews and focus group discussions across 20+ informal settlements in Bengaluru with residents, NGOs and academicians. My research focused on housing, migration, regulation, and governance. In addition, I also performed reviews of academic literature and research reports, as well as of government policy pertaining to informal settlements.
