As a Research Associate in the Centre for Budget and Policy Studies, I was part of two research projects and prepared a project proposal. During this stint I was part of multiple research teams running on tight deadlines. > Action Research project with education interventions for adolescent girls (Malala Foundation). Built from feminist pedagogies, this project involved rolling out an empowerment based mentorship programme for adolescent girls across ten schools in rural Bihar. I conducted both primary and secondary research involving remote interviews, data cleaning and analysis. The results of the baseline survey for this project was presented to government officials and other stakeholders in Patna, 2019>Budget analysis, Karnataka government Funded by UNICEF, this project involved analysis of Nutrition, Food and Health system interventions conducted by state government to assess its alignment with India's stated aims under the Sustainable Development Goals. After acquiring the relevant data from state government departments, I along with my team members mapped government expenditure with human development indicators disaggregated at the district level for Karnataka. This study allowed for better understanding of the government's performance with respect to aligning local development pathways to SDG goals.> Bangalore Air Quality Study Proposal I was responsible for drafting a research proposal to estimate Bangalore's air pollution burden. This involved primary and secondary research and I interacted with stakeholders in Bangalore and surveyed estimation methods performed by other Indian cities as part of the research design process.

As a research assistant in the 'Quality of Life in India's Slums' project headed by Dr Anup Malani and Prof Adam Chilton from University of Chicago, I gained valuable experience as part of an international, geographically spread team and a grassroots view of the structural forces behind urban poverty in Bangalore. I conducted scoping studies, surveys, interviews and focus group discussions across 20+ informal settlements in Bengaluru with residents, NGOs and academicians. My research focused on housing, migration, regulation, and governance. In addition, I also performed reviews of academic literature and research reports, as well as of government policy pertaining to informal settlements.

Samaj Pragati Sahayog is a large grassroots-level, rural development NGO working in Madhya Pradesh with an outreach of 80000+. The organisation seeks to build food and water security in dryland areas, self-sustaining women's self help groups and farmer producer collectives and improve rural livelihoods in two predominantly tribal district in Madhya Pradesh.As a Program Officer I prepared key reports on water security, sustainable agriculture, health and nutrition, women's empowerment and skill development interventions in highly unstructured environments. I travelled extensively across 20+ villages and was part of multiple local collectives. This exposed me to a diverse set of stakeholders ranging from farmers and panchayat members to donor organizations and government officials. My work involved primary/secondary research, analysis, preparing project proposals, reports and case studies both for internal and external dissemination.
