- Verification & Validation, Type testing, Safety certification & approvals, Hardware testing, Design support, Functional & Special testing, Reliability analysis & testing of new designed products such as Variable frequency drives (VFD’s), Motor speed control systems, Power drive systems (PDS), Converters & Inverters (Ratings varied from 100W to 375kW) - Collaborating with the design, product management and marketing teams globally to understand customer requirements and accordingly preparing design verification and validation plan (DVVP) for product verification & validation. Verifying and validating the new designed products as per DVVP- Carrying product type testing, safety certification and approvals as per IEC 61800, UL508C/UL61800, DNVGL-CG-0339, IEC 61000, CISPR 11, IEC 60068 standards- Developing test matrices, test plans, test cases and test procedures as per DVVP. For respective tests, preparing the test set up, test jig and leading the testing of products in CG’s R&D lab, keeping adherence to EHS and company standards - Supporting design team in selection of power devices, critical components, power sizing and preparing power architecture - Prototype level testing of sub-systems of VFD’s (i.e. pre-alpha level testing) like capacitor banks testing, DC chokes testing, IGBT’s testing with gate driver cards, testing of cooling system of VFD’s, double pulse testing etc.- Once proto is ready, conducting all tests as per DVVP and type test matrix of Alpha and Beta stage. Conducting special testings and functional testings as required by the customer and product management team - Conducting short circuit tests, destructive test of components, temperature rise tests, break-chopper test, static and dynamic response, electrical safety tests, environmental tests, specification tests, functional test, temperature de-rating curve test, vibration tests etc. - Performing EMI-EMC compliance testing like RE, CE, RS, CS, VDI, ESD, EFT, Surge on AC motor drives
