About Rajni Ratti
Post-doctoral Fellow (2011-2013) - IIT, Punjab•Worked on a CSIR sponsored project - Design and syntheses of a new class of Salen based metal complexes : A search for catalytic activityPh.D (Chemistry), PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh“Synthesis of Ionic Liquid and Clay based recyclable and recoverable catalytic systems” under the guidance of Dr. V. Singh. Work done during doctoral studies is enlisted below• A Sulphonic acid functionalized ionic liquid had been successfully intercalated in the interlayers of Na+-MMT clay and was characterized by various physico-chemical techniques. Sulphonic acid functionalized ionic liquid and heterogenized clay nanocomposite have proved to be excellent recyclable and recoverable catalysts for chemoselective transesterification of β-ketoesters giving products in good yields with high TON/TOF (Catal. Commun. 11 (2010) 503-507).• An ammonium tagged oxime carbapalladacycle had been synthesized and characterized. The heterogenization of synthesized carbapalladacycle was done onto the montmorillonite clay. Both the ammonium tagged oxime carbapalladacycle and its heterogenized clay nanocomposite had been successfully exploited as recyclable and recoverable catalysts for Mizoroki- Heck and Sonogashira reaction in ionic liquid medium giving the desired products in good yields with high TON/TOF and negligible metal leaching (J. Mol. Catal. A: Chem. 334 (2011) 13-19).• An imidazolium tagged cinchona ligand had been synthesized for asymmetric dihydroxylation of alkenes using osmium immobilized layered double hydroxide in a biphasic media. Good recyclability has been recorded of the catalytic system upto three recycles giving diol with high enantioselectivity.• A new methodology for synthesis of dihydropyrimidin-2-(1H)-(thio)-ones using a basic ionic liquid [bmim] OH under solventless conditions had been developed. Antitrachomal and antiviral drug, Nitractin and anticancer drug Monastrol has been synthesized in good yields by exploiting the developed methodology. [bmim]OH proved to be an excellent recyclable and recoverable catalyst for Biginelli reaction.M.Sc (chemistry), specialization- Organic ChemistryWorked as a Lecturer at ASSM College, Mukandpur and SGGS College, MahilpurWorked as a JRF for a joint Indo-French project related to Green Chemistry and Catalysis.Worked as an Assistant professor at MCM DAV College, Chandigarh.Worked as an Assistant Professor at Miranda House (university of Delhi), Matreyi College and Moti Lal Nehru College, New Delhi
Listed skills include Organic Chemistry, Heterogeneous Catalysis, Green Chemistry, Ionic Liquids In Organic Synthesis, and 6 others.
