Managed a manufacturing JV with local government monopoly, Vinataba. Planning & Business Development Manager, Malaysia (90-93/97-99) - Planning and execution support in two phases for business restructure of highly profitable Malaysia market ensuring least disruption and leading to a doubling of the market share of Marlboro to over 6% post restructure. The task involved dissolving a contract manufacturing JV with Rothmans, entering into a new arrangement with RJ Reynolds, establishing dedicated third-party distribution network with 300 sales personnel and providing marketing impetus to the flagship brand, Marlboro. In the second phase, formulated a US$90 million investment project to establish Asia’s first manufacturing facility of Philip Morris. The second phase also involved acquisition of the distribution network back for complete control over the market.  Asia Region - Planning Manager/Analyst, Hong Kong (89-90/94-96) – Worked closely with country managers for strategy, financial modeling and interface with Asia management. Supported 3-year Regional Plan consolidation requiring high data integrity for annual budget planning reviews with the global leadership.
